The webinar and the discussion following it will try to give answers to a number of questions like:
- Which problem was attempted to be solved (or which opportunity to seize) by using Alice?
- Who is the target audience to use Alice?
- What was the largest obstacle?
- How did you tackle it?
- What is the result?
- What are the next steps?
Leonel Morales is a professor and researcher at Francisco Marroquin University in Guatemala, Central America. Back in 2006 he started promoting Alice as an alternative to traditional programming languages for teaching in middle and high schools in his country. Through the organization and conduction of workshops with teachers and students, the use of Alice started spreading with positive results. In 2014 he leaded a research team to study the different styles of engagement of students in the use of Alice. The team published results in 2015 and continues with the project.
The webinar technology is provided by Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet). Technical support is provided by our colleagues from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER).
You are cordially invited to join Leonel Morales and us on Wednesday, June 14, 2017at 8:00 (PM) CET time.
